Default Nav. light size 450 scale.

Hi Guys and Gals,

I picked up a 450 class Bell 206 here....post #8 , Thanks BladeBender!

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=696401

It came with a set of nav. lights that are 5mm led. My question is would that be the best size for this scale or should I use 3mm led's

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for that info.

What I have is 5mm LED's.
I am wondering if they are to large for a 450 scale Jet Ranger or should I use 3mm LED's

I would think the 3mm would be closer to scale size for the 450 size heli.
The 5mm behind a lens of some sort would be another option.
Just my opinion.

I actually used the two surface mount LEDs from this on a micro coaxial, I think they were 1.5mm.
One red, one green. They were pretty bright.
I powered them straight from the 3.7V flight battery.
I made a hole just large enough for the LED to poke through and a little ca on the circuit board to mount them.
This was a S300 canopy, real thin vacuum formed material.

HW,

Thanks for your input. I am going to use 3mm lamps as you suggested.

I have the entire RC-Lights RCL5051 LED kit but the 5mm lamps look to big.
