A while since posted on here - I still have the two. One fully fitted with lights, retracts and the other standard. Still both get regular airtime in the summer months. I keep looking for another! I still have 1 brand new 500x in the box and another as a hack. Great Helis.

I've been MIA for awhile myself!

I'm FINALLY (hopefully ) going to get my 500X with the Bell 222 fuselage in the air the summer.

I was wondering if anyone has come up with a set of scale(ish) landing gear struts that could be fitted to the Eflite retracts?

+1 to that for me as well, lol! Since I got into FPV a couple of years ago all my heli's are starting to collect a bit of dust. I do get them out once in a while though.

Cheers,
TomC

Few weekends ago I took mine to a friends house just to show him how nice it looks in a hover and the starboard retract hung up during lowering. For a second there I had a vision of holy terror.

I've also been doing the multi-rotor platform (since the original Phantom) so I know what you mean!

Still not together, Bell 222 fuse stored in the basement. Although I fly my 500X once in a while.

Default 500 Bell 222 Body Set Installation & Stuff

Over a year since the last posted comments from robdd1 and hoverfun . Where's the time going?

Pulled mine out of mothballs for one flight this season.

I'm thinking about taking this apart and flying the 500 X without the Bell 222 Body. That would give me a great reason to update the navigation lights and do any maintenance that needs to be done!

I know this is an old thread, but I’ve been looking for one of these fuselage sets. If anybody has a new one or knows where I can get one, please let me know. I really want one of those.

I doubt that you will find any new ones still in stock. Maybe someone has a used one for sale, but I've never seen one listed.

You may be able to fit other 500 sized bell 222 bodies with a little modding. Here's an example (plus they carry lots of other 500 scale bodies);

Bell 222 Black Scale Fiberglass Fuselage (500-Size) Licensed Bell Helicopter Product

I have no idea how easy this would be to do so you are probably best to contact them and ask.

I'm still flying mine, but only a few times over the last couple of years. Too much FPV, lol!

I don't fly much anymore and am thinking about selling mine. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it together or sell the Bell 222 Body and 500X separately. I knew there was a reason I kept the original boxes!

Default Tail Wag

So here we are March 2020 and I have a tail wag which I would like to resolve.

I've read a lot about a metal tail may help. Here is the Aluminum parts that are already purchased:

BLH1863A Tail Case
BLH1867A Pitch Lever
BLH1868A Tail Pitch Slider
BLH1870A Tail Rotor Grip Set

I'm looking for advise as to what else needs to be replaced while I have this 500 X/Bell Body disassembled!

Thanks in advanced.

Ya, just replace all plastic tail bits with your new metal ones. You will need to carve a bit off the fuz tail for clearance. Review earlier post/pics in this thread. Also, you will see my recommendations on pinions and tail blades. I also did the metal head and ditched the head button.

Been a long time (+1.5 years) since I've flown mine. Too many other projects. Still looks very nice on display, lol!

While rebuilding the tail assy, guess it's best to replace everything.

Past several years I've been doing multirotors and slowly selling off all the helis except for this one which she always liked the most, so it's gonna be a keeper. So I know what you're saying about how good it looks on display.

tail assembly likes new bearings as they're pretty small size 8x4x3. The tail bearings on my 500x wore out pretty quickly.

Good idea. I had to look before ordering and saw the aluminum tail case assy does come with the 4x8x3 bearings.

Default Bell 222 Body Container

Few years ago I sold my Blade 500X with the Bell, still sad to see it's gone, but moving on I have the original Blade Bell 222 body box with shipping container. Anyone interested in purchasing can contact me thru PM.... It's large and ship can be a lot.
