Default Battery Failsafe ?

I've been meaning to ask... What's the point of this feature and why is it limited to 4.6v in this day and age? What exactly is it suppose to do?

The Fail Safe function automatically sets the servos to a predetermined position in the event that the signal between the transmitter
and the receiver is interrupted, whether due to signal degradation or to a low transmitter battery.

This is the first sentence on page 26 of the manual. Hope this explains it
.

Just remember electronics can fail without warning.

I had a nitro once that the RX power unplugged during a spool up and I was stuck with a a 600 screaming with a HS of 2100 or so and no way to shut it off, I lucked out and it was not in the air and just sitting on the ground with about -1 feed into it. Failsafe would not have done a thing for this situation but if it was on the signal or TX side my controls would have went to center stick and the throttle would have gone down to idle.

Everyone should run a failsafe on the throttle if nothing else that way if there is a problem with the signal your bird will shut down the motor and take the power out of the disk.

Thanks guys but I know what the radio fail safe does and mine is set.
I'm talking about the "Battery Failsafe" it has its own menu label and sub screen.

And Hill Billy I've been in that exact scenario with a screaming 600 nitro sitting on the pad with just enough negative to keep it still and no radio function because my rx came unplugged right as I was about to take off... scary...
I had only partially plugged in my EC3 to let my FBL initialize and forgot to finish plugging it in... I don't do that anymore.
Unfortunately though after about 3 minutes it gradually became unstable and ended with a chicken dance. To top it off that is how my brand new engine was broken in... That actually still pisses me off to think about it lol
