It says a bunch of upgrades, and dramatic stability improvement to small helis... I'll download it once someone else does

Didn't see that yet. Since I just got my v1.2 flying I think I'll be leaving mine for a while

Although the updates text seems to have some very good corrections!
Ahhh what the hell, I'll do it tonight and be a tester

Its calling for 8 degrees cyclic pitch. I wonder if its ok to leave the collective at 12 to 13 like I have on all of my set ups. Im running Leon Luke's 450 settings on my 450 pro (1.2 version) and have been so so happy with it. This does have an attraction to me on the 450 because of the slight porpose effect in FFF.

I dunno Im gonna wait till other people try it first.

Maybe Leon can chime in about his experience with the update.

Since it specifically says DIR set-up needs to be 8 degrees on cyclic's initial set up I'm guessing you don't want to skip that step. I don't see any reference to collective values

I am flying Leon Lukes settings on the 600 pro and I am very happy with the way it flies. I am going to wait a bit before I update. Hopefully L Luke will test it out and post settings soon.

just looked at the software and looks complicated. when you set the 8 deg do you adjust it using swash afr then set it. the increase the swash again to set the maximum travel.

what's with the "sattelite receivers cannot be too close during power up - must be outside of 30 cm" statement? Thats a long way away! Wonder if that applies to full size receivers too.

Does "Roll rate adjustments should not be done in the transmitter" mean don't use D/R?

That's what I take from it which I'd like to know specifically why if the case

it might be in reference to the transmitter location - when the trans is too close during start up the sats will not bind properly.

Nice to see they're still working on improvement. Allthough i've been glad with how it flies from the beginning.

Default New 3Gx Firmware Version 2.0

Hello Helicopter Pilots,

We have some exciting news about our 3Gx. We now have a new firmware update version 2.0 that simplifies the use of the 3Gx. Easy to understand interface that enable access to all functionality. First upon opening you will notice that there is know longer specific model types. Also you can see starting points at a glance and make adjustments as you feel needed. This updated firmware will provide enhancements that you can feel and see in flight.

First thing you’ll notice:

Hovering stability, pilots doing hovering type maneuvers will feel a more linear control response. You have the ability to disable the cyclic pitch function to enhance hovering stability.

You can achieve stable fast forward flights regardless of helicopter size, and smooth transitions between maneuvers.

Now with cyclic and collective dampening function, for more stable flight and reduced power consumption.

Improved pirouetting compensation and added adjustment instruction, further improving pirouetting axial point.

With the above enhancement we have expanded the range of the 3Gx. The new soon to be released GPS module for the 3Gx will expand its functionality. We think you’ll enjoy the flight performance, and the expandability.

Best Regards,
Jeff Fassbinder

I just flew 3GX v2 in my 450. It's very different. I'm flying the default cyclic settings and the gain at 12oclock and it feels smooth but sluggish. A little strange to be honest.

Not so good on the tail. I had the tail much better with v1.2. I think they have taken away too many settings. I get piro stop bounce before I have enough gain. I might try more lock gain and see how that works. It also feels like there is quite a bit of fixed expo on the tail now.

Oh yeah, I think the reverse drift is sorted, if not, it's a lot better. The wind was a bit variable so it made it a bit hard to tell, but it definitely wasn't as bad as it was before upgrading to v2.

Early days yet, I suppose. At least it works.
