Default Woodies on the 600N

I'm still very much learning (mostly FF right now), and I see the woodies for $20 a set.

Thoughts? Will they do? Or should I stick with my plan to go w/ Mavrikk G4 CFs? (Running a flybarred machine here.)

I would never put cheap stuff on an expensive heli, if you can't afford good blades don't own a 600N IMHO

I would steer clear of the woodies myself. They were ok back in the day when we were running 30 sized engines, but today with the power we have it would take nothing at all to overspeed and throw the woodies off! Find the cheapest set of FG or carbons and go with that.

about as cheap as you'll find...

+1, stay out of woodies.

I used o practice with those Hobbyking FG blades first. As I swapped to Align CF 600's, I go massive amount of self confidence to my flying due to very predictable good blades (compared to Hobbyking).
Also with those cheapies, blade tracking was OK one day and not good on another if outside temp changed enought.

You can buy pretty cheap Align 600 CF blades from FastLad (in UK) if you dont mind small visual blemises on them.

OK, these are out of stock as I write this.

If you're passed the tip-over stage, get a set of good CF or FG blades. Decent blades are definitely worth the expense. You don't have to spend 100 bucks but it will be close.

There are inexpensive Chinese CF and GF blades. I've used the cheap CF and can say for what you're doing they'll be ok. The problem is that one set may be great and the others may be out of spec which can cause a blade to break mid-air.

I know many will disagree but I've used the following blades with great luck for sport flying.

I wound up going with some Pro 3D CFs the guy at my LHS set me up with for $45. I think they're these: http://helidirect.com/600mm-pro-3d-c...is-p-10336.hdx

So far, so good. I haven't weighed my pair, but my LHS guy pulled a set and said they weighed w/in a gram of each other.

Think I'll avoid the woodies. I didn't care for them on my 450; a pain to have to balance them. That, and Blade wanted $16 for a set, when I can get some nice Align 325 CFs for about $3 more. Much smoother flying.

EDIT: looks like the set I got (and that HD sells) are identical to the ones sanh found on e-bay.
