Default 500 MX motor Timing and PWM

I have been flying the 500mx motor for about 50 flights now but have yet to come to a concensus on what is the best timin/pwm frequency combination. i have been running it on 12khz and low timing. using the formula:
(#poles*nominal voltage*motor KV)/20 = (6*22.2*1600)/20 = 10656

I am still not sure if i should be bumping it up to the next frequency.
I am also not sure what timing to use. The motor comes down only 10-20 deg F above ambient temp at any given time (middle of summer in Alabama) so 90's with super high humidity.

I've had the best results with 12kHz.
