Hello all
I have been reading some of the threads regarding peoples ESC's either packing in or burning out the FET's and other parts. Is this human error or possibly a mixture of the quality of the components used on the ESC's and quality control before being dispatched. ![]() Dave |

I would say both are reasons for that. Sometimes it's cold solder joints or shorts when soldering and generally not good build work. Some times though, it's plainly bad batch of FETs or faulty fets. But it's not appropriate to only take into account those that have burned their escs, there are tons if other people that have great success and use it for over a year.
Now with governor modes, there is considerably more amp comsuption from the power hungry motors than running without governor. Let alone that most esc now have 2-3s support and may become hotter under 1s operation. So there are a lot more factors than quality.

i wouldn't worry about what you have read. on building custom BLHeli ESCs sometimes with modified FETs, there is plenty of room for user error, heavy soldering on very small tiny parts, and as you mention QC.

Hello all
Thank you for your replies i was under the impression that it seemed more of an electrical failure issue, but as you say i really never thought about installation or human error. Dave |

Mine wasn't my human error maybe error to the robot flowing the fets at the factory in China, this stuff just happens no biggie esc only cost 19.00 so it's not like you fried a Jive or Castle! And it's mainly on xp-12 but remember that's the esc guys are using with high power motors on 1s and the esc is speced to 2-3s fets so hence why this is happening to many the fets aren't going to be perfect for 1s. I'm about to do another build using xp-12 flashed and hpo8 on 2s....
