washout arms

Rebuilding head and noticed that the washout arms are made with the blade grip holder receiving hole off center.
What direction should the washout arm be mounted? I found that by orientating the short side of the washout arm to the long control arm that goes to the swash, that I get a straighter shot from the swash to the washout arm and seem to get better response to the blades.
If I reverse the washout arm, there is a greater angle from the swash to the washout arm; doesn't seem right yet pictures I have looked at all seem to go this way- with the long side of the washout arm to the swashplate linkage rod.

I have mine set up short side to swash, long side to fly bar cage. Don't know which is correct, but it fly's this way.
