Default Some Mornings

.....are simply better than others. Drove to the beach this morning at 0720 and found it deserted except for one person, a local lady watercolour artist whose work is amazing. Then proceeded to fly four 3300's through No. 1 Twin in perfect conditions. It's good to be back!!! (followed my flying with my first 4k run for four weeks, barefoot on the beach - sucks to be me - lol)

Oh man i miss Sabah so much!
I could easily cope with your early mornings now as well, I am on site at 6.40am every day so a beach start at 7.20 to go flying would be easy!

Its bloody 45 degrees here at the moment and so damn dusty!

Glad to hear your feeling better.

Hows your new truck working out for ya? Enjoying the extra power?

Nice number on the truck BTW, SAB 550 are the blades I sold you!
and your flying style is definetly more 1D than 3D!!

I really must get my ticopter finished and test flown.

I monted the FPV gear on it last weekend just need to wire up and test.

Have you had chance to fly your "other" Heli?
The one that must not be mentioned in here!

Cheers Mate

Glad to hear that you are back out and about JB. Much better than those hospital bed pics. Enjoy flying again.

Thanks Jerry - I was just pottering about this morning but the last battery saw the old thumbs up to their usual mischief!

Hey Ben, the 'other' heli has a few issues, main bearings are worn and a bit of vibration as a result, I have ordered replacements. I'm gonna rebuild the head because I am not sure it is right (these things have a habit of bending their torque tubes too so there's a new one of those on order aswell)
You would have loved it this morning mate, a very light breeze, low tide and that nice early morning light I kept trying to get you to see when you lived here. I flew the Parrot yesterday (with an Ipad) which must be what it's like to FPV - AMAZING MATE, I thought I was inside the thing! I was zipping around Asia City shopping centre and checking out the girls and they had no idea who was flying it ha ha. Video quality wasn't that brilliant tho'.
Can't wait to see the tri copter. You need to put some 550 Gaui parts on it and then you can discuss it here.
The new truck is awesome and yes, I chose the numbers! And no, I didn't realize the significance of the 1D but I do now ha ha (Su is banned from the new truck after she scared herself in it - lol)

Cool
Did you buy the Parrot or was it a demo from a shop?
Doh! I missed the obvious Sue And Bob connection!

I think there are maybe some Gaui screws in the Tricopter and it does use the same connectors as i used on teh Hurricane do you think that counts?
Oh and i could put some gaui stickers on it!

Im hoping to get the Video System hooked up tomorow and who knows maybe even a Maiden Flight!
Wont be via FPV though!

Do you think i will get motion sickness flying via FPV and video goggles?

It was just a test flight on the Parrot, as I have the Ipad already I could buy it for 1400rm! I remember you yacking after diving so 'motion sickness' is a good possibility, never mind, try it and then sell the whole lot to me for half price ha ha.
Screws and stickers should be enough, I think the Twins have more Trex parts than Gaui now!

FPV at this point obviously then standing for Full Projectile Vomiting.....

ralphing while diving....mmmmmmmmm...

hurry up wazz...we want pictures.of the bloody 'gaui' tricopter not you throwing up

thought...wonder how hard it would be to attach gyro's to your video glasses and feed their signal back to the tx's right stick(mode 2) so your copter's basically controlled by head movements?

thought upon thought....actually be bloody easy to test using a couple of hyperion servoes(speed and throw setable) attached to the tx controlled by the gyro's and a good chunk of expo to compensate for sneezing...
haaaaaaaa imagine the 'FPV' losing your tail would induce then....

Haha Full Projectile Vomiting lol

Not bad ideas!

It would be fairly easy to do that i think. There are already head movement tracking devices that allow you to control the camera on the aircraft so you can look up down side side as if you are in the cockpit!

I am actually quite concerend about the motion sickness bit.

I will try and get her maidened tomorrow and take some pics for ya.

Wazz

Ben, you need to move back here mate! When and if you do we are gonna take advantage of these early starts, another 4 x 3300s this morning, followed by a 4k run and a swim in the sea. Awesome start to the day! I'm putting together a little video of my early morning jaunts, just to speed the process of your return to proper living. Can you imagine the Tri copter on Kinabalu????

Unfortunatly i would be based in Perak not Sabah!!!

But Airasia have cheap flights

FPV around Mt KK would be awesome!

The Mt KK golf club would be a fantastic place to film from the air!

Ok ok i will get the tricopter up and running this weekend

Thats if i dont get distracted playing with Amber!

Or Becky gives me a long list of chores!

Mount K golf course (the nicest unused golf course in SE Asia!)
I have a friend who has just built a house on the edge of it (he even has a gate that opens onto it) so we can stay up there anytime we like, take the families!
