Anyone using CC ESC governing?

In my logo 500 3d I've installed a scorpion 1100kv motor (4020), and am using a mod 0.7 main gear with a 14 tooth pinion. My ESC is a castle creations 120HV, and I'm running the whole thing on 6S.

I'd like to try out a governed rotor, but with this setup it seems that the highest governed head speed that I can get is 1910 rpm (by both mr Mel's calculator and the castle link software). This seems on the low side to me... That said, I'm just doing sport flying at the moment, so maybe it's okay.

Does anyone else out there use a CC ESC in governed mode? Do you use a bigger pinion? Why is the max speed on the governed setting so low? When I run the calculator without governing the head speed is around 2100 at the end of the flight for 100% throttle. Shouldn't the CC governor be able to get me close to that value?

I run a CC 100 in governor mode but on a Trex550 not a logo.

When you run governor mode, the esc needs enough spare 'headroom' to be able to compensate for when the heli is loaded - therefore the available governed head speed will be lower than the ungoverned head speed on the same gearing setup.

I use it. Firmware 4.01 BETA actually has very nice governor that is actually usable. Your questions were many times discussed already but in general you have to play with pinion tooth count keeping the target RPM in the desired range as well as ESC efficiency in 80-90% range.
