Default Snapshot of my 250 at the field this morning

Flying four packs at sunrise before going into the office.
(Even with the high-viz paintjob and aft cowling I sometimes have a hard time seeing the speedy wee beastie. At age 61 might it be time to start flying something a little bigger?)

This is one of my 250's. It has a Bavarian Demon 3SX FBL, MKS servos and a Talon 25 ESC. When I have time I'll shorten the servo leads to clean it up. The Demon FBL is great on this heli, along with the servos. I also changed the tail control rod to a carbon fiber rod.

Thumbs up

I don't know the weight, but this is heavy for a 250, so weight doesn't bother me. I don't have a high opinion of Zeal blades for the larger helis, but they work nice on this size. The color matches the canopy nicely, which makes it look cool.
The Demon is the bomb on this heli. It's expensive, but flies better than the BeastX or 3GX, though these do fit between the frames. The Demon won't fit between the frames as it's too wide, so the side mount was the only place it would fit. The bail out feature and detailed programming are nice to have. I have this FBL in seven of my large helis, so I am very familiar with programming it, and was able to set it up nicely. Most people won't put this FBL in this heli as the FBL costs as much as the entire kit. This BD 3SX was a spare that I bought used so I didn't mind testing it in the heli. I can always take it out if I need it on one of the larger machines, but since it flies so well, I wouldn't change it now.
I've also converted this heli to a belt drive, which eliminated the stripping of the drive gear, a common problem in this model.
The MKS servos, carbon rudder control rod and Castle ESC are great improvements for this heli as well. I have two Trex 250's, and have built them in several configurations. By far this is the best combination that I have come up with. I have a Vortex motor in my other model, which uses a BeastX FBL, but I am just as happy with the Align motor. I think this is as good as it gets on a Trex 250.

A little bit of brand blasphemy, but I never cared much for the stock align canopy The aftermarket choices are fiberglass and heavy. The 200srx canopy is about 11g and is a direct fit with the standard 850mah battery.

I made 2 extra holes to give me a little more room for the nanotech 950's that I prefer. A little fluorescent paint on the main blades to improve visibility. The rotor disk really shows up, especially in the sun, really helps orientation.

Cool on the lightweight canopy! I added it to the lightweight parts spreadsheet at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...Ppw/edit#gid=0. Does anyone have an exact weight?

Is this canopy bigger then the Trex 250 canopies? Would like to know asap because I'm looking at the 300x canopies for my 250. Battery issues with stock canopy

There are EX extended size canopies available for the trex 250's. I have always felt that a trex canopy looks more appropriate. I have one and it fits my 1300mah batteries. It's a little tight with that size, and I found that if you put the wire end of the batteries towards the top instead of the bottom they fit better. You can see the EX canopy in my photo album.

To put a Blade canopy on a Trex 250 just seems wrong! Lol.

I checked my photos and don't have a picture of mine. Here's a fusuno EX canopy. http://www.fusuno.com/images/FUC-TX210EX.JPG.

I would say that the amount of room under the hood is nearly the same as with the stock canopy.

The clearance is the same as the regular canopies. The only difference is the lenght to the canopy posts. It's not a vast difference from the stock size, but just enough to get a larger battery in. You'll still have to press it on a little. I've been very happy with mine.

Well I didn't feel like ordering so I drove to Denver and got me a canopy. Unfortunately no aftermarket Trex ones but I didn't mind. Batteries fit perfect and servo clearance perfect. The Trex canopy can fit inside the 230s just wider. Fits great. Just awaiting my blade 300 landing gear lol. Go blade
