Default Trex Threadlock Compounds Dried Up

Looking for equivalents to the Red & Green in the Align kit. In other industries, the red was fairly permanent (Used in Transmissions), and the Blue was most used for assemblies were you could loosening & refasten if needed later.

So whats these to equal to far as Green - Blue

The red Align stuff is equivlent to blue loctite. The green align stuff is a "wicking loctite" (according to finless). Not sure what the equivalent is for green.

Icenum: use blue 242 on anything that requires threadlock. Don't use anything else.

Green,"OEM specified. A low viscosity threadlocking liquid that wicks along the threads of preassembled fasteners to secure them in place.
Blue"All-purpose, medium strength threadlocker

Red"High temperature/high strength threadlocker for heavy-duty applications.

Purple "Low strength threadlocker designed for fasteners

Just thinking if Purple might be needed, thinking oin Blue & Green for wicking.

Ormandj, Sounds good I have several tubes l found from my X-Cell, Hirobo, Kyosho, Vario Nitro days. All was dried up as well as the Red. I'll run to auto parts in the morning & get tube of the Blue.

One thing I don't miss is balancing components like I did on the Nitro heli's. Clutch bell, Cooling fan, etc.

I would have like to saw a cooling fan of sorts to help cool the B/L motor. :fart Ordering Motor Heatsink, and ESC cooler as well.
Thnx.

I fly a jazz 40/medusa 3400/tp 2100 3s setup, and have an aon heatsink on the motor. The only thing I'm considering is moving to the new TP batteries, as my 15C suckers are starting to get warm with hard flight. 124F since I redid my setup (well under the 140f problems.) With the new batteries, it should drop lower, and I can put a higher pinion (13t) on and do 3100rpm. I guess it all depends how you fly.

Regardless, blue 242 on everything I needed it and no problems. Disassembly isn't such a PITA too. I run insane headspeeds and beat the crap out of my heli, so if mine stays together on 242, it's good enough!

I mostly use the purple 222 now because of the small size of the fasteners on the TRex. Otherwise it's the Blue 243 which seems the new number for 242 over here??

Yeah, I think 243 is pretty much the same stuff.

243 is 'oil tolerant' compared to 242.

you shouldn't really go by color since non-USA mfgr'd Loctite doesn't follow the same
convention.

you want
222MS purple for Trex size <M2 fasteners and small setscrews
243 blue as the all around general
271 read high strength for the rare times
609 retaining compound for bearing races
???? a green watery one for wicking into assembled parts, same strength as 243
