Default Metal Gears for Torque Tube

Do Metal Gears for Torque Tube exist?

If so - where can I find them?

If not - anyone know why not?

Thanks,
E

My sense is that it would be very noisy. In the event of a crash or the tail hitting the ground, it would cause massive damage since it would be hard for the gears to strip. Having the gears strip prevents damage elsewhere. Something has got to give... a cheap umbrella gear is a good sacrifice!

I don't get it. Most other sizes have metal gears. And as long at you keep on plastic then you won't damage anyting too badly.

Blade 130x for one, but would not bother running then on a 250 or larger not needed.

Every flight either from grass or just from flying, I end up stripping the front bevel gear. I wouldn't mind those to be metal and keep plastics ones on the tail as a sacrificial part.

It's such a pain to keep on taking tons of small screws out to pull that portion out then strip the boom mount/gear housing to replace them. Such a PIA I shelf'd this heli and considering selling it or seeing what I need to do to convert it to belt.

Never had a problem with belt in my smaller 180cfx or 450X helis and love the little bit of give it gives me when i land in grass. And of course my bigger TT helis have the clearance and are beefier so never had that issue.

I wish someone lynx/MH/align would make those in metal...

I had to add two bearings to the front end gear
on the torque shaft, where it sits in the plastic tail holder.
Before that it was stripping all the time.
The Align drawings do not show these bearings.
