Default Battery wiring question

now i know of you put both POS together and both NEG together it makes it 10,000 mah 6s? so if i were to run POS to NEG, and NEG to POS will that make it 12s?

A picture is worth a thousand words. Series connection(for 12S if running 2x 6S 5000's):

I'm guessing it's an anti-spark resistor.

That's what it is. I have the same configuration using a 1ohm 5 watt resistor and a bullet plug.

It reduces the damage caused to the Deans, by the spark, but this is not a problem with bullets.

I have nearly 300 flights on my 12s T-Rex 600 and the bullets still look like new.

and you can pick one of those resistors at a hobby shop?

My .02, bail on the Deans and go with 10 gauge and EC-5 connectors. You'll get a better solder dropping 10 gauge wire into a cup than you'll ever get soldering it to the side of a tab. Again, my .02.

Yeah, it's an anti-arc/spark connection. I'm using a 10 Ohm 1 watt resistor(from Radio Shack) with a 4mm bullet connector. I've got a couple pics of how I made it in this post: https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=10

Castle Creation recommends a 1ohm, 5 watt resistor for their ESC. They say larger resistors could damage the ESC and also screw up the voltage reading for the "auto lipo voltage reading'".

This resistor works good if you are using a setup like Al's

Al, nice pictures for your setup.

I NEVER rely on any type of voltage cut-off, I always manually set it to as low as it can possibly go. It is true that a higher Ohm could possibly damage the ESC, but the difference in resistance between 1 Ohm and 10 Ohm is neglidgeable. When you start getting into resistor values that are in the hundreds of Ohms(which are actually physically smaller) then you run the risk a boost spike upon power up.
