DX6i antenna - can it be rotated?
Hello, I'm a bit of a newb to the transmitter side of things, so I hope this isn't a dumb question.
I have a DX6i that I bought used and it works great. I found a case that worked for a DX6, and it that almost fits mine. But the problem is that the antenna is mounted to the transmitter in such a way that when you bend it at the joint, the angled part isn't perfectly parallel with the plane of the transmitter. The result is that when you close the case (which is tight fitting), the antenna presses against it and puts pressure on the joint. I'm hoping that there is a way to slightly rotate the bottom part of the antenna where it mounts to the transmitter so that he angled part is on a flatter plane and will fit in the case. I removed the single screw that holds the antenna's outer piece on, but the inside piece seems firmly mounted to the transmitter and I didn't want to risk breaking it by trying to force a twist. Is this something I should be able to do, and would it require opening the transmitter case? |
