Default dx8g2 programing Vs dx9

Is the menu and programing similar on the new dx8g2 compared to the dx9.

Thanks

Yes, same new software style on all the new TXs. The new DX9 was the first to switch over to the DX18 format, and now all of the new G2 TXs are following.

Thanks I have not seen a lot of info for programing on it. I just want to get a heads up before it comes as my old DX8 RF board died yesterday. It was 6 years old I was due.

The model files (SPM files on the SD card) are even compatible across all of the G2 units.

With the original DX8, the model files were very specific to the DX8 and didn't work with anything else.

If you have trouble finding SPM files specific to the DX8G2, any G2 files will work including the DX9, DX18, and the other G2 transmitters.

DX8G2 is not a 1:1 replacement for a DX8G1 (missing top right 3-way Governor switch).

Have you checked Spektrum Air transmitter comparison chart / feature matrix?

I would go for a DX9 or something more open (vendor) which looks like to be the follow up transmitter.

The airware (screens) seem to be limited for 2xAIL + 2xFlap? For sure on DX7G2 according for chart.
Would have to re-read but there had been limitions on DX8G2 as well as.

Is it true that DX6+DX7+DX8G2 have no vibration motor for vibration alerts?

There are software limitations on every level of Spektrum G2 transmitter. They use that in combination with the number of channels to justify the price differences.

The DX8G2 is a lot closer to the DX9 in terms of programming features than the DX7G2 was. The DX8G2 does allow 2 Ail, 2 Flap on a plane.

The Vibe Alert has mysteriously disappeared from the most recent comparison chart (http://www.spektrumrc.com/Content/Me...Comparison.pdf) but yes, it's true - that black case used for the DX6/7/8G2 does not have a vibe motor.

My dx8 arrived today. I was able to program two quads and one heli. Once I got the hang out it it was much easier than by old dx8.
