Dampeners

I had the guy at my LHS tell me that the B400 and CP head dampeners are the same. I put in a set of the CP ones and they seem just as soft as the SR ones. Anyone know if the B400 ones are different form the CPs? I really do not want another boom strike now that I put on the carbon boom.

I've heard that the B400 do work, but I have no experience with whether or not they're stiffer. However, I do know that the trex 450 v1 o-rings fit and are much stiffer.

Yeah, I tried to get the Trex ones, but neither LHS near me carries them. Guess I'll just need to really work on those soft landings!!!!

BCP and B400 o-rings are the same. You get 4 in a set, and it's labelled for the BCP. You also get some tubing which is useless for the B400 or BSR.
Align 450 V1 o-rings work great and I've reused them after many crashes. Getting them to seat just right with the spindle in place can be a pain, but its worth it.

trust the blade 400 orings are stiffer than the stock SRs orings. I changed mine out and its much better and stiffer

You can also add a shim or two to each side as well.

5 shims per side and stock o-rings is a very stiff combo and mine set up that way lasted about 70 flights before I had to change out the o-rings

You could cut some dampers from some nitro fuel tube,i used orange.
Stiffened it right up just be sure to cut them the same width and a nice square cut.

My SR endured a tail boom strike yesterday on a very hard landing. This was with HK CP woodie blades, B400 o-rings and 4 shims!!! This was not a crash, I landed super hard in idle up. From now on I'm only using Align 450XL v1 model 1186T o-rings.

Hey SNOWFREAK, you can get some O-rings at your local Amy's Hardware (or any hardware store, home depo, Osh etc. The local Amy's here in Sac carries lots of O-rings and ones that are identical to the Trex 450 v1's so look around I'm sure you'll find some. If for some reason you can't find some, PM me and I will pick you up some and send them to you. Hope this helps.

I want my SR to be built so that I CAN do that though. Is that too much to ask? By the way, boil your skids in water for 10 mins then let it cool down. It will make the skids more springy and less prone to breakage. I did finally break my boiled skids after many idle up fast forward pavement slides (I do this on purpose, it looks awesome) when I snagged the skid on the lip of a manhole cover. It snapped and flew somewhere far away otherwise I would have glued it back on (shoegoo!).

Well, as far as I know, no heli is designed to be dropped to mother earth so rapidly. So if that's what you're looking to be able to do, I would suggest stocking up on blades, booms, tail motor mounts, skids etc cuz that'll be the result. Unless you wanna roll with training gear on all the time...
