Discovered a new helicopter sim
I got a nice gift for christmas a Heli-X flight simulator. I have the Aerofly 5 but someone was nice enough to get me this one. It is downloadable from the net and works perfectly with the wireless dongle I had made with my Jeti Transmitter. I like the flight algorithm for helicopters but the nice part for TDR owner is that since it is German of origin you get to fly differently attired TDR. Here is one of them.
Worth having a look for around 50 Euros

It appears to work on a Mac. Is that correct?

One of the things I like about it
Here is an other shot, for some reason the quality of my screenshots are lower than what you actually see. But I must admit that the backgrounds are not as clear as on the Aerofly5

I will check it out. I use Phoenix sim on my laptop and large computer monitors, but I have a Mac Mini for my audio/video server at home and it is connected to the large TV. I was looking for something I could use on the Mac with the wireless sim stick.

I downloaded the free demo which they state is a full version but it would not open in OSX 10.9.1. The error said unknown developer. Did you have the same issue or maybe not because yours is the purchased version???

Did not have the problem when I tried the trial version before loading the full version. I have the same OS version as you do.

This is a new osx security feature. There is an option somewhere to run applications from 'unknown' developers.

Hit "Control" while you click on the Heli-X icon to bypass osx security.

One more question... What type of UBS cord are they referring to to accompany my 8FG, or can I somehow use the RealFlight UBS cord?
Many thanks, Ray

+1 rdavis had mentioned an "error" message. It has become so second nature that I don't even pay attention to it anymore and bypass it on autopilot.

Does anyone know if the Phoenix USB dongle will work with this? Also the SimStick wireless set up?

not sure about your setup but my wireless dongle with a Rsat2 worked fine with my Jeti so I would think your SimStick would too

RealFlight USB controller works. I haven't gotten around to see if throttle hold, idle up etc works. Not at home now so I can't fiddle with it. Let us know what your results are. Thanks!

Phoenix USB does not work.
Nice simulator, currently betatesting v5. I very much like the flight algorithm. On the other hand, I have trouble adapting to the view angles. Somehow, the depth vision appears to be a bit off imho. I found it harder to practice big figures.

Just plugged the USB into my MacBook Pro and the sim software recognized it. Went through the calibration exercise and haven't had time to play with it much yet. Looks like it works. I was able to fly the Logo 600 model in the free software. |
