Default 120 SR Custom Carry Case

Well finally got my 120 but wanted something nice to carry it around in. Found a great place called the case club and had them fabricate a custom foam insert to fit the Trex clear front case. It has room for the heli and six batteries. Always have my Msr case with me which has a charger with it so battery charges are covered. All the leg work is done so if you are interested here is the contact info. Just ask for the single heli foam insert.

I just crumple it into a ball and stuff it in my pocket. How much did it cost you?

Very nice indeed! Just out of curiosity, how much did they charge you? Their custom foam inserts page on the web site has no pricing but says they will give you a quote after receiving the plans.

I had two of them made at the same time for a total cost of $220.00. I was the guinea pig so the next ones made should be less. If you look at their site there is a place that shows you what the different levels of pricing are. The base price for the option I chose was $75.00 and I had to send them all the parts to do it right. You can call Amanda and ask but I would assume the price should be less since they already have the pattern locked into their CAD program

Got a case from Harbor Freight $24.95 and all you do is remove the foam as needed. It comes pre-cut into cubes.

Nice case DuckHunter,

That's more in my price range. The custom case if sexy, but holy crap, it's like getting another 120SR. You remember what category that case is under? I can't seem to find it on their site.

Carry Tool Boxes is the category. You suck at the intarwebs.

By the way. Harbor Freight online is a run by a different company than the brick&mortar facilities. So they will not price match the online site if you go into the store. And the online inventory is often times different than the brick&mortar

That's totally an option ! Actually I saw a similar case in home depot, but that was more expensive (I think around $35).

Another cheaper idea is to buy only the pick&pluck foam insert from caseclub, they can do several layers too, for the size of the 250 trex case it'd cost about $20. This is especially useful if you already have a case that you'd like to use for storing the 120SR.

Personally I like the Harbor Freight case idea. It's more cost effective and configurable. I'm planning on picking one up tomorrow.

thx to duckhuntrr for the idea.

NO! Mad hard feelings. The internet is super serious!

I'm going to pick up the one from Harbor when I pay off my credit cards. Too bad it's like 1/2 an inch too short or I'd get one for my SR too.

I could reply but then this conversation would go even deeper south so instead I just decided to quit flying helis, sell my Mustang and move to an uninhabited corner of <strikethrough>Canada</strikethrough> Alaska (so this post is indeed not a reply) all because of how you treat peacemakers...

You drive a 'stang too? Sweet! What kind. I'm driving an '86 4 eye 5.0. It's totally built and tuned for SCCA roadracing. Do you ever go race your 'stang?

Wait....or are you talking about a Mustang like an RC plane?
