Default DEVO 8 won't bind correctly to Genius CP????

Hi, strange problem here:

A friend has a GeniusCP and a DEVO 8 Tx. Strange thing it doesn't bind correctly - no green light on the board in either setup, but all servos and motor work fine. BUT is flies odd.

After some time of troubleshooting with no result, we tried to bind it to my Genius CP which is normally 100% perfect and bound to my DEVO 6. Bingo, same problem. No green light, but all things working.

Then we tried to bind his heli to my Devo 6 and it works fine, green light and all.

Conclusion: His DEVO 8 has a problem, but what? - HELP needed please!

/Henrik

It is the gyro sense. The gcp manual mentions setting it to 50% but at that number the tail gyro is shut off and while you can still hover it, the LED won't light. Set the number to something above 50% in normal mode (Flight Mode). The setting is under "Gyro Sense" in the model menu on the Devo.
Hope that lights the LED!

Hope all the difficulties going forward are this smooth as this one was, but don't count on it! Good idea to keep you manuals on hand and great that sometimes we can help out too. Hope you have as much fun learning more as I am. Good luck and be careful about damage inside. I found that if you want to keep a happy wife even when the credit card bills show up for the heli stuff is to be sure to take the "nest" seriously and be careful there. I've been able to retain my indoor flying even though my old mcpx birds did some serious nicks etc. to the paint. I made the mistake of using a set of CFiber mainblades on my mcpx and found out after the fact that my favorite launch pad (1" glass coffee table) was getting groves dug into it by the CF blades. I had no clue until my wife found it, and she was great to let me off the hook but be careful. Happy wives mean happy pilots. Just ask the rest of the mostly male group!

Glad you are up again.

In the devo 8 go to the model menu under output and set the aux2 channel to gyro. That is your problem. Gyro channel not sent to helicopter.
