Default HELP! gain adjust on AR6110e

Just finished building my T-Rex 250 SE using an AR6110e and GP750 Gyro with JR DSX9. The only available channel left for the gain wire is the gear channel. If I flick the gear switch the Gyro will go into rate mode ( red LED ) which allowed me to centre the servo and set up the tail. But now how can I adjust the gain? I found this

but it seems a bit complicated. Is there an easier solution?

Most people just use the gear switch and adjust the endpoints in the travel adjust menu.

OK, i'm assuming that +150 is full avcs and -150 is full hh, so to set a reasonable starting point on the travel adjust end points of the gear channel, say 70%avcs and hh something like +105 -105

I don't think that's quite right... There's a scale factor to go between the travel adjust value and true gain, but I don't remember what it is. It's not too important though. 105% is probably going to be too high to start with. I ended up with with 29% on my T-Rex 500 and 40% on my 450 Pro, so starting at 30% would probably be alright.

Yep, thats definately not right. I maidened the little beast this arvo at 100% and it was chasing it's tail like a mad dog! Backed off to 30% like you said and it all seems good. Just need to do some fine tuning now.
I watched the Finless video on the 9303. Bob also explains how you can only adjust the end points with a 6 channel reciever

On the 9303 radios, you CANNOT use the gear channel for gyro gain settings using the GYRO_SENS menu. You CAN, however, use it to control gain via GEAR channel endpoints (ATVS)

The "scale factor" is when using the GYRO_SENS menu. Endpoints is closer to 1:1 so a decent starting point for both HH and rate is 35 then adjust from there. Anything on the + side is HH mode, - is rate.

Well, I should have known better. Finless always has the answers! Using travel adjust True gain=(gyro menu - 50) x 1.44. So with the GP750 say 70% gain= +30 on the travel adjust.
Thanks guys and thanks Finless.

You can always use the Govenor menu (on electrics) and set it for channel #5 and plug the gyro gain into channel 5 (gear). Works great and allows different gain settings per flight mode.
