In the BeastX setup is an option for tail gain over and above the gyro gain in the tx. I don't have a BeastX manual with me or I would give you the light number. It's on the parameters menu.

According to the setup, if the tx gain is getting high you should turn up the tail gain in the setup and then try a lower tx gain.

I had this issue with my e7. I turned the BeastX tail gain up one level and my tx gain back to about 50 on my dx8 and tail is locked. I never had to touch the tail pre comp pot.

Also v3 helped me with cyclic gain issues on my x5. Maybe it would help here too.
