Default Dev 7 as Sim Controller intermittent issue

My Dev7 works with my Phoenix Dongle... sometimes.?.?.?

Sometimes it loads recognizes PC, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyone else have this issue?

I sold my Devo 7 awhile ago, but if I remember correctly you have to turn the devo 7 on first then plug it in...

I forgot but it's something simple like that

I got so excited when I saw your post....
Didn't work.

Thanks though.

At least I have a Dev7e to sim with, but it's too small for me and feels like a toy in my giant hands.

Are you sure...? I had the same thing happening and contacted phoenix sim about it.

Did you try plugging it in then turning it on?

Other than that I have no idea... You should contact phoenix support

Hamish

I don't think it is Phoenix, as it worked once and then stopped.
And the LCD screen does not say PC when plugged in; that should happen as soon as you plug in the dongle regardless if Phoenix is running or not.

Plus, it works just fine with the 7e.

That pretty much confirms that it is the TX. Right?

That TX has had some other freaky software issues. It wouldn't switch to FM1 or 2 for a while, then it started working again. I hope it doesn't go haywire while flying, I could hurt myself or someone. Kinda scary.

Yeah but phoenix is good with different controllers

Well that's wierd. Mine also worked the very first time I plugged it in, then after that it didn't which was when I contacted phoenix support and they have me the answer.

What if you turn the TX on, plug the dongel in, turn the TX off and turn it on again?

I had a few issues with my devo 6 and clearview.... a working order sorted it. I think Helihamish is on the right track, it might just be a plug in, switch on order.... or at a long shot a bad plug port...(but i think that's a long shot.)

I opened it up and tested the port with a meter. I've got continuity on all connections and there is no obvious physical problem.
