Not to pile on, but has anyone had success using this with the AR7200bx?
No, it won't. The voltage is right, but its the pulse width, its not compatable with the Stator Gator. I used the GV-1 with great results.

Any solid answer on if it works with the Spartan Vortex? Will be for a upcoming build, just need to know if I'm going to go Spartan or budget the funds for a Vbar.
No, it won't. I tried the Spartan Vortex VX1n and the stator Gator...it didn't work. So I used a regular magnet pickup and placed it on the exhaust side of the motor towards the front (the thinnest section of the motor housing), using the flywheel magnet.

This works great, no extra electronic componet to mess with! The VX1n has a built-in governor and it works great!

Electrically it should be compatible with the Stator Gator. What RPM does your engine run at? That is rotor_rpm * gear_ratio.

Ok, I have the Goblin 700 standard with the gasser conversion kit.
Hanson 300 3D Max motor with RJX muffler.
Spartan Vortex VX1n controller
RC style Stator Gator...initially, now mag pickup

Goblin gear ratio: 7.03:1
Hanson 300 3D Max RPM range 8,000-15,000 RPM

My RPM range in the VX1n: no GOV in normal mode, 1850 in idle 1, and 2050 in idle 2.

hi, i like to use a Vortex Vx1n with the Stator Gator.
Does anybody run this combination. Do you know why this is not working?
Because of the voltage? The signal or why?

After speaking with both Stator Gator and the develpoers at Microbeast I can confirm it will not work with Spektrum/Beastx.

No chance.

No, the Stator Gator will not work with the Spatan Vortex VX1n or the BeastX. The output signal from the Stator Gator is not compatable with the Vortex.

Sorry, but I've tried...

Do you know the difference of the signal? Is the voltage to low?
Did anybody check with a oszi or something else?

Maybe we can build a little signal converter?

Its an analog signal and beastx needs a digital signal. Sounds like the Vortex does too. From what I can tell futaba and vbar are the only ones who can use an analog signal.

Trust me, at least in the beastx side. I'm working with the developers right now to get the gov right for gassers on the Beastx Plus, and the first sensor ruled out was the stator gator.

Unless you can come up with a way to convert analog to digital...

How about just using the sensor that comes with the gov and skipping the stator gator.

A stator gator is NOT required.

I have a SG for a PUH. how would I go about hooking it up to a RC format motor?
Thanks

I don't think you will. My understanding is that its not just the connectors that are different. The PUH version takes its feed from a primary/trigger coil, the RC version is taking it from a combined coil.

Hi,
I have just finished my first gasser conversion and I use the HWC RC engine which comes with an electronic ignition. The output of the ignition is a trigger signal but the regulators uses as input signal a on off signal (hall sensor). So I made a small print layout wich converts this signal. You need a BC337 transistor which drive the led of a 4N36 optocoupler and an resistor to protect the led of the optocoupler. If someone ist interested in, I can do a hand drawn layout for that which I post here. Everyone who knows on which side a soldering iron ist hot can do this. The cost are minimal. But if you do that it is on your own risk!! I tested it with a Vbar regulator and with an old Webra telemetry system an it works without problems!

I have not been able to make that work

however, you don't really need it. The primary value of the stator gator is that its not that easy to mount a typical governor sensor for the Zenoah PUH or RC engines. So the Stator Gator simplifies that by simply wiring into the ignition system

However the GT15 uses the standard cooling fan arrangement on the models so you can embed magnets in the fan and mount the governor sensors just as you would with a glow engine.

hope this helps.

there's really nothing with the SG to setup, however you wont' get a reading unless the engine is spinning

if you pull the spark plug and spin it with a starter you should get a good reading though

How did the ikon 2/stator gator work out? I'm thinking of going that route with the original ikon/brain?

it doesnt work. and no way to make it work

get a aerospire rpm sensor and use the fly wheel magnet..you will have to make your own bracket to hold the rpm sensor, and you will remove your kill button but so far it has been working for me. ill post some pictures in a bit.
