I looked at the one RotaryBliss has but his is more of the fixed pitch approach... I was told that programmable tails were far superior but more difficult to setup and repair in crashes. He told me with this tail upgrade, my 600 blades will feel like 900 blades.. a way bigger helicopter. I need my tail to be rock solid. |

You forgot the extra 3 ball bellcrank upgrade to compensate for the extra balls on the pitch slider. Take it back to your Hobby Shop and demand satisfaction.

It seems you are forgetting one key bit of information here. Now that you have installed the flybarred tail rotor system, you need an addition electronic componet...the weebar. With this weebar not only will you be able to defy the laws of physics with with countercorkscrews and woopdie doos (the latest XFC manuevers) you will also be able to travel intergalatically and compete in the Intergallatic cup, most surely winning the prize money.
I believe you can find weebars on ebay and craigslist.

Another issue I'm seeing here is that you don't have the swash properly setup. The way you've got it now you're going to get some funky tail interactions when you're flying tail in.

Wurger,
I would like to follow your example an upgrade one of my ships with the same tail assembly as you have. I think I read, on another forum, that I should not use ball-link pliers, and that a ball-peen hammer would be better for fine adjustments. Do you agree?

2. The weebar sounds nice, but I thought the flybar on the tail eliminated the need for a gyro? As everyone is going flybarless on the head, we're supposed to go flybar on the tail, right? Quote:

Either Zbend, or just bend the swashplate ball links up or down to accomodate the length changes

I just tested it today... Wow! This thing is really locked in and its like I can make the tail dance when I am hovering tail in.
We should probably add to this thread so these new parts have their own special names? https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=182321 Last edited by Wurger; 04-25-2011 at 06:41 PM.. |

Is this with the weebar? Or are you trying one of the other units out there like the animalc?

Hey Wurger: Dang I like your style man! All newbies should learn to fly with flybarred tails - otherwise, like, how can they learn the finesse required to hold a tail in line? For years now so many have been cheating by using those electronic gadgets that just keep the tail in line without you needing to DO anything!
