If it were me. I would choose the x5. Only because I have heard it is an awesome heli. I cant wait till they put the x4 nitro up for sale. I will be getting one for sure.

But. Then again I have never been a fan logo heli's..

SPARKY, This is the guy that bought your Trex 550. Maybe you can help me figure out how to hook up the Spekturm Satellite ? I see two plugs in the area where you had your Futaba satellite. One coming from the ESC and the other I haven't tracked down yet.

Any help? This being my first non Blade BNF heli, I'm still a little green.

Here is a link to the BeastX manual.

http://www.beastx.com/manuals/MICROBEAST_3.0.2_ENG.pdf

I am not familiar with Spektrum, only using it for Pheonix and to bind to my MCPX, but it appears that you shouldn't use a single satellite on a heli that big. You may have to use a Spektrum RX with two satellites. I will get the manuals and wires in the mail to you tomorrow.

What did everyone think of your purchase??

Chris

Also, there is still the wire that connected the Futaba RX, and there will be wires coming from the BEC Pro to both the BeastX and also where the RX was. All you really need to do is reset the one setting on the BeastX from Futaba SBUS to whichever RX you use. Everything else is set. You should try flying it before changing any settings. Also, in the parameter menu, I have it set to default to radio settings for D/R and EXPO.

Hmmmm...these are things someone with more experience will need to explain to me. In this case my flying experience definitely out shines my technical knowledge. I'm still learning new things every week.

Do you think I'll need to do a major disassemble of the frame to get things hooked up?

I'll be going out to the field tomorrow to fly my B130X and the B450X. Both fairly nice little helis but of course I'm very excited to fly the 550. Still need to find a mate to the Anderson Power Pole for my charger. BTW, speaking of the Power Pole connectors, if you can, please tell me exactly what size they are.

Oops gotta go the charger just kicked of...one more battery charged for tomorrow.

Thanks

Say what?

You are trying to say CFRP suffers fatigue failure? That is incorrect, unless you are exceeding the tensile strength and deforming the part (not fatigue failure, similar to work hardening causing failure in metals), this will cause the fibres and matrix to separate. If this is happening then the part is poorly designed (the same would happen were an Al part insufficiently strong for the stress applied.

You dont hear very many reports of logos (or protos, or raptors etc.) slinging blades so I would think they are sufficiently well engineered.
