Angry Ouch!

I just noticed that the 120SR is "now on clearance" on Horizon's site! I thought the small ones were to survive!

HH has really stuck it to us. I have eleven of their Helis from the Mcx2 to the 550X. I have a bunch of repair parts that won't last that long. I have been flying since 10/12 and Blade is the only brand I fly. If I could blink my eyes or twitch my nose I would ditch the whole thing! HH told me that parts would be available for 1 to 2 years. Well I am here to tell you that's a load. I need(ed) a servo for my 500X. The servo is no longer made. Sooo, to replace one of them I have to replace all three at about $250. Is it worth it? I have been a staunch defender of Blade. My flying group pretty much doesn't have much use for Blade. I have become a member of "the silent majority."

saw that as well, I am very new to this and have bought only Blade based on recommendations. I will say that I do like flying the Nano CP X more than the 120 SR though so perhaps that was recognized and they are on to better things.

Your 550 though... shocked imagine the cost there and was there a reason as it is still offered?

I have heard of these scares in the past, with the popularity of the Blade heli's I believe parts will be availiable for quite some time. Even if the main mfg stops producing parts normally an aftermarket company picks up the rights or the old tooling to continue making parts and normally at a better price. Once a new program is paid back in sales a new one is created and the older tooling is sold off to after market companies, look around at old cars, tractors, etc from 50 to 100 years old.....you can still find parts for them if you look hard enough. If the clearance price is good enough pickup a couple of extra helis just for spares. After I bought my 120sr and saw the prices dropping I picked up a couple used and a couple new one at dirt cheap prices just for spares.
