Finally nudged myself to finish a TDR.
Didn't come out so well though, maybe need to try a few more. haha
You guys have any mounting tips?
I Thought it would be too big at first but now that it's on there it looks just right. Just need to figure out how to secure it. It almost doesn't fit well because it's kinda small near the bottom around the battery tray?

When I get it right it should look excellent

I'll get pics of some of the other ones I did later. They came out a bit better.
These turn out to be quite a project!

WOWeveryones tdr style canopies are looking fantastic! But when i attempted one it turned out to be to small , i only realised this after spending 2 hours meticulously putting it together So how do you guys print it??? I just printed it off of photo shop, i have pepakura designs but I havnt yet grapsed the concept as to why it is needed...!

I used it to open one or two of the canopies. I forget why also.
I think it was before there was a JPEG of the one I wanted..
had to print it as the other type of file.

Mine seems to be sized right, it's just a very tight fit.
I'm gonna try again. I think I could have done better folding it.

I printed mine with MS paint. I double and triple printed some.
The one you see of mine above was single printed... just a test.

I have a double printed one that came out much nicer.
I think some cardstock would be sturdy but too heavy IMO.
I'm trying to think of a more sturdy material but not too heavy.

Pepakura is great when used with the textures, like mfedasiuk has posted
Open an existing PDO design, import a texture and voila....you have a new design!!

New textures can be designed in photoshop or whatever graphics package you use and quickly turned into a new canopy

Wow Davy! Your designs are pretty sweet. Really appreciate you sharing. Didn't think I would spend so much money on ink!

This one came out rather nicely on the best gloss paper I had.
I guess it wasn't gloss enough.
It was either printed two or three times.
On a color laser printer.
I need a few bags of canopy grommets then I can make a nice video with one of these.
