Quasar 7075 with optipower ultra-guard
Is it ok to use these two together?
The ultra-guard turns on automatically, but i have to turn it off myself. Is there any risk in powering down the bec and leaving the ultra-guard on? What i am concerned about is current going in to the bec from the "wrong" way.

Hi. I do it with my scorpion backup guard.
And it works fine, no damage to bec. But how high voltage does your opti. Sent out?? |

Quasar 7075 with optipower ultra-guard
I run the bec at 7,4 volt, so the guard will send 6,9.

The Quasar manual states it works from 3S and up, the ultra guard has a 2S lipo. How is this going to work?

Quasar 7075 with optipower ultra-guard
Since the optipower only supplies the servos, gyro and reciever, this does not matter. The bec will never be powered from the ultraguard. The Ultraguard is there to take over if the bec fails.

It would be a bad idea to apply 3s voltage across the output leads. The output circuits probably can't handle that. The electrons stored in the ultragaurd are not discriminatory. They don't see the BEC and decide to turn around. Unless there's a diode involved, the ultragaurd will absolutely supply voltage to the BEC. The question is, how does the BEC handle this |
