Default Align Speed Control Settings

I have just made my first 3 flights with my TREX 600, it's awsome !
I have the stock 75 amp speed control and 600 XL motor. What are the correct settings to get the Soft Start to Start Soft. When I spool up as slow as I can, it starts with a quick jerk and gets the blade out of line and the whole heli wobbles until it gets enough speed to straighten them out. A little unnerving to start up. My settings are 1-1,Brake disabled. 2-2, Mid timing. 3-2, Mid voltage protection. 4-2, Soft start. 5-3, Quick speed. Should 5 be medium speed 2, or 1 standard to help slow the start down ?
Please advise what setting I should be using.

Program 4 is soft start
1= airplane mode NO soft start
2 = Soft start NO governor
3 = Soft start WITH governor.

I rpogram mine a
1 = 1 beep no break
2 = 2 beeps mid timing
3 = 2 beeps medium voltage protection
4 = 2 beeps Soft starty NO gov
5 = 3 beeps fast throttle response although I really don tthink this setting does anything on a heli with a idle up curve.

That is how I have mine set 1,2,2,2,3. Is it that the Align speed control soft start is just not that soft ? My friend has a jazz and it spools up just great. I know the jazz has a better soft start but is mine starting up normal for the Align speed control ?

Mine also jerks around when starting so do the others I have seen. Not really an issue in my view as it settles down with 2-3 seconds. Doubtless the Jazz is heaps smother, but then you would want it to be pretty sensational for the price!

I have mine setup the same as everyone elses and it does the herky jerk on startup also. Basically the Align ESC's soft start is crap. The jerk is alot more noticable on a hard surface like concrete or solid dirt. In the grass it's dampened a little. My Align ESC in my 450 provides a much nicer soft start. I think i'll be getting either a CC or a Kontronik ESC fairly soon cuz it bugs me when it jerks like that, and can't be good for the gears anything else in the drivetrain.

When it jerks on spool up, and starts to wobble around do you just keep slowly keep going up on the throttle and let it smooth out on it's own ? When it get up to speed it get smooths and flys great. I just don't want to splatter my heli during spool up.

Same on mine. Finished my 9th flight tonight. I have been flying off of pea-sized driveway gravel and the heli twists about 1/8 turn to the left at start. I classify it as a "hard beginning" to a soft start. It does spool up slowly after the initial jerk. Will James offered the suggestion to tighten the blades until they are a little stiff. I did this and it did help quite a bit. Funny thing on mine, the gyro slides it back to the original position after the rotor gets up to speed.

I'll try tighting up the blades a little. Hard question to answer I know, but how tight should the blades be.

I do tighten mine down pretty hard. I am using the metal grips. Be careful over tightening the plastic grips as you caqn crack them or stress the plastic and thus have a grip failure!

mine are 1,2,2,2,3

mine used to jerk a bit, but as bob said tighten then up a bit more.
It loads the motor more on start up. therefore reduces the jerk.

One way I got around the jerking was to adjust my 5 point normal throtle curve to 0, 25, 80, 90, 100....this gives me a soft start effect.

Thanks

Robert

I start mine in Idle up 1, nice and smooth. We do keep our blade grips nice and tight, that probably helps.

Tight grips helps a lot.

I just tested out the governor function on mine for the first time on this esc (my 2nd) and realized the soft start didn't actually work when set to soft/no gov.

My first esc had a very nice soft start, just like my esc for the 450. Melted that one (the first 75A) and got a new and as far as I've been able to find out the soft start w/o gov cannot really be called soft on this one.

I've balled around with the thr hold setting etc to make sure the soft start timer doesn't start as soon as I connect, but it makes no difference. I get soft and gov, but without the gov I need to make it soft myself.

I actually find the gov function on this particular esc to work very well. Less bogging on my L motor.
However even if I've gone thru the setup several times, 90% thr setting will give me 100% throttle.
90/95 or 100% throttlesetting all give me 100% throttle. No diff when I switch to Idle2, strange.
