Default Bec question

Hello,

I have a quick question. I'm building my next Electric machine (a Goblin), and want to put a Glyphon SBEC into it. Since it will probably be runninng 12Sm the 7075 seems the right optionl, correct?

How about a buffer pack? I haven't found any documentation on this, and it would be the only deal breaker for me, as I couldn't fly a $2K+ machine knowing that the BEC is the only power source to the electronics (ouch).

Thanks for your support,

--T

According to fabien you can use a buffer pack as long as the output voltage on the bec is exactly the same as the buffer pack. He told me for HV servos to run the bec at 7.9v-8v and keep the 2s lipo buffer at the same voltage. Im still awaiting some final details on this setup from him before I proceed but you will love the bec it performs great and I have the flag pin as well as the LV Led which is by far the brightest LED i have ever seen.

I like the bec option for the consistant voltage so I would def recommend going this route. I would wait for his reply or send a pm just to make sure I didnt miss anything though as I am just repeating what he told me. Hope this helps.

Awesome.

I had a buffer pack in the Logo, but some BECs don't support it, as it looks like induced voltage and it shuts down.

I didn't know this was possible. This was the only thing that kept me from using another BEC than the Kontronik built-in BEC.
Is the new manual available yet?

I believe Fabien isn't involved with Gryphon anymore. Or maybe he even left the rc hobby all together.
Which is actually a pity. I guess someone grew a life beyond rc heli's

Get a Scorpion Backup Guard. I put one on my Rush and tested it on the ground. It kept my electronics alive when I unplugged main BEC.
