Default Heli Option Quick Release Battery Mount

Hey guys, check out my Heli Option Quick Release Battery Mount installed in my Goblin 700 Competition.

It installs quickly and perfectly inside the G700 Comp. It allows your 700 to have a very similar quick release mechanism as on the Goblin 500.

It has a full length track like the G500. The batteries mount to the silver plate, and then the plate slides down inside the rails and it clicks in place. Then you use your straps as normal. Comes with a total of 4 different HO straps.

It fits the regular Goblin 700 too.

Check it out...

They use a plastic rail system very similar to the Goblin 500 and the Trex 700.

The lock clicks into the groove of the silver plate. It's the straps that are going to bear the load. The clicking mechanism is to verify it is in place, and the batteries are in the correct position.

That is an interesting upgrade. I'm not sure how I feel about strapping 5000mah packs longitudinally on a tray that large. I would highly recommend using adhesive backed velcro on the packs as an extra measure. I'd prefer to see straps run the other way and use 4 straps. It would just require cutting slits in the side of the tray to accommodate say 4 total battery straps.

Use velcro or double sided tape to attach the batteries to the silver plate. Just like a Goblin 500.

Then slide it in, click, and wrap two straps around it.

Ready to fly.

I'm using on my 630 comp and very happy with it. I use some velcro and stick packs with 1 long strap to tray. Then use 2 reg straps around frame and batts to be safe. Use to have G500 and used secondary batt srat for safety also. Great upgrade. The plastic is a little soft, flimsy , but once mounted works well. The latch works great, better then the G500 IMO.

Does it utilize the carbon plate on top of the pack for protection like the stock Goblin Comp battery tray?

What is the point of a quick release if you still have to strap the the packs to the frame? on my 500 I never use a strap and the packs have held in place fine.

Watched 2 separate occasions where the tray was not properly locked in (G500) and batteries slid out in flight. Lipos into pinion inverted, not good outcome. 2 diff pilots at my field. I prefer to air on side of caution. The Heli option tray seems to hold quite well, added straps not needed, I just like added security
