Thanks. That charging lead looks like the one I use to charge my mcpx bl 2s lipos. I'll have to check if it the same.

It's not. The BL uses a UMX (I think UMX is correct) connector.

It uses a small barrel connector on the power supply. The charging system is built into the radio and the pack. Supply it with 12volt and the system does the rest.

It comes with a wall wart 12volt power supply. You can make a lead and run it off any of your 12volt power supplies or even an auto battery.

The DX9 comes with a Li Ion pack that charges through the TX with the supplied wall adapter. It will turn off automatically when it's done and the light on the front will go out.

What many don't realize is the auto turn off function when charging is only when using a lipo or LI ion battery because there is a built in charging circuit in the battery pack. NiMH packs do not do this. This is the same for the DX8 and others.

excellent. sounds like i'll enjoy the dx9. This purchase was a really hard decission, because Im not working at the moment. The dx8 was 172 dollars less. I went with dx9 to be more future proof. I'll be using it for a few years to come.

Good choice IMO. I like my DX8 but the 9 is another huge step ahead.

You will love it. Just a note though.......the wall charger takes a very long time to charge and the light to go out. Expect 12-15 hours or so.

I got it from rotorquest. a shop here in Toronto. The DX9s always go quick from that place. I'll eventually get the charge lead too.

Watch out for the "system idle" voice alert.... If the volume is around 50, no one is around and, you forget... it can be unnerving. Nothing like knowing you're alone and then some woman yelling at you unexpectedly! lol
