Default Urukay/Kosmik (12" BEC) extension ?

Anyone use servo extensions (ie.6"-heavy duty) to reach their FBL?
I have some JR and Spektrum extensions (22ga or thicker) but the Kosmik plastic connector is too thick to fit into the female end of the extensions.
1. Maybe shave the plastic down a little on the Kosmik end ?
2. Use 1 longer cable, and wrap around toroidal cores, like Kosmik cable ? If so, does anyone know how many extra inches are taken up by the toroid windings (will find out if I go this route and remove them, but am trying to estimate the length needed for 1 cable, including windings). 18" total looks fine, plus added length for windings.

Just curious re what most people are doing (1st large build)--Thanks

There's no reason why the Kontronik power cables shouldn't fit into an extension unless your extension is a Futaba style female end. The Kontronik's power cables are JR style.

I personally do not like using extension if I can help it. My Kosmik power cables would not reach either to my FBL so I picked up a set of 24' inch long 20g wire extension cables from TailDraggerRc. They come with a male and female end. I cut off the female and crimped on some connectors and a JR style servo lead and I had perfect length power cables.

I opted not to use the tordial cores, but I believe about 1.5in worth of cable is wrapped around each.
