Default Crappy 3G Connector

So after my 500 dove into the dirt the other day I ruled it out as my connection vibrating out of the main 3G unit. With the USB interface out now, we plug these things in and out alot when setting it up. After the first one or two times I disconnected the thing it never made a good connection again. Just tapping on it a certain way causes it to reboot. I know this is a common complaint and was wondering what everyone is doing to solve this issue??

I agree the connector is not the greatest. Are you removing it properly?

Also I think it is best to let the Y cable installed and of course all connections should be shoo gooped especially on the 3-G unit which seems to vary greatly in tolerances.

Same happened to me with my 700. I chalked it up as my own fault for failing to make sure the connections were solid during my pre-flight. I just hooked up the 3g link cable the night before and I remember having problems plugging it in. I was lucky and just killed a few tail gears.

I will never have that problem again as I have taken some extra precautions.

It may be the pins on the sensor have been pushed in making a bad connection.
The later models now have expoxy behind them to stop this happening.
There is a sticky regarding this issue.
Have you done the mod? If not, while you have the sensor open, glue the pins to hold them in place.
