Default Charger detects 5 not 6 cells

On my BC6, a DN-Power 6S pack shows "R:5SER S:6SER" which suggest one cell is damaged. Is it any use trying to charge this using the balance connection, or is the pack history. It is not so old and not abused as far as I know.

I set that up (0.1A, 6S, balance) and after about 15 minutes it stops and gives "vol select error". I have been repeating this to see if I can get the voltage up enough - it now shows about 20.6V which I thought should be enough to indicate 6 cells. For the meantime I've put the pack aside in case it stabilises itself somehow. I guess my next step will be to check the individual cells via the balance plug.

I don't think so because when I put a voltmeter across each pair in the balance tap all six showed similar 3.5v. I've warmed the pack a bit, and continue the 0.1A balance. The total voltage is now just above 21v but it still cuts out with the same warning after a while. I'll keep re-starting but if it gets to say 22v, and if all cells show similar, I'm stumped.

Success it seems. The total voltage was showing 21.7v. So I stopped the charge, and restarted (still on trickle balance) but for the first time the display shows "R:6 (not 5) SER S:6SER".
