RealFlight G6 sim seems a little "unrealistic"

So I got this sim to prepare for my mCP x I just bought. The sim is great practice and I do not regret the purchase but the heli flight seems a little unrealistic. Mainly when the heli is sideways it seems a little slow. I don't exactly know how to describe it but seems like pitch pumps are pretty right on but falling and and side to side just seem a little off. Sluggish maybe? Is there a setting I have wrong? I don't think I do it seems the same even on youtube videos.

Does anyone else have this impression of the sim?

More like your mCPX is unrealistic

You are probably noticing the stall severity of either size ... the mCPX will fall QUICK whereas a 600 or 700mm machine will float for a period of time before falling. It's completely normal and is honestly just physics.

That being said, make sure you have the sim in the highest difficulty mode (Simulation menu -> Difficulty I think). I can't start it up right now but basically this setting changes the physics speed as well as stall characteristics, etc.

I tried rf6 and I think its awesome!

I have never been a fan of ANY RF versions other than 3.5 and as far as i am concerned rf6 has hit the physics bang on.

I am very impressed.

RF is the best so far. I've used Phoenix and Reflex, but always went back to my trusty Real Flight. I started with 3.5 and upgraded to version 6 from there since still using the old black cheap looking controller. I liked Reflex the most prior, but new OS is not compatible. I have a Phoenix for sale if you want to try that Too robotic and animated feeling for me.

Realflight works great. I started with it (spent about a month with it), then I bought a 400 sized heli. I hovered with it perfectly the first try. I have since bought a mCPx and it's way harder to fly than my larger heli, but way more forgiving in a crash.

The only way you can practice the mCPx on Realflight is to download the mCPx model. It's pretty close to the real thing. Or you can try maxing out the physics speed on one of the current heli models to try to emulate the mCPx.

I have RF G2 lite, had it for years, I want to give it to a lady friends boys, I'm getting them involved in flying R/C... I get my pick of new sim, never having tried Phoenix or any others, I recently tried the demo of RF6, I thought it was awesome... Seems like those who have flown both or all three still like RF the best...

Anyone want to comment??? Think I'm going for RF6 instead of phoenix 4, even though I like and fly a lot of the models in phoenix...

My personal update on this thread. I was comparing my expierence to the mcpx. I just got my 130. And it's much different. Much smoother and much more like the sim. I can imagine a 450+ size heli will feel even more like the sim.

Iove it now. Sim and the 130x. Past the tail give on spool up it's so fun and tail hold for days.

I own both the RF6 and Phoenix4. I use both regularly. Both sims seem generous in what they consider gravitational pull. Real life gravity seems to suck the helicopters down more aggressively than the sims. Both sims are also more forgiving when doing 3D maneuvers. Phoenix seems to be more forgiving than RF6.

Still, both sims allow your brain to acquire the hand-eye coordination which does translate to real life flying.

One thing I notice motor load and blade sound in RFis better. In Phoenix for instance when on the ground and give negative pitch the heli does not squat or hear difference in blade sound. You can also weight being removed from skids when lifting off.

Blade sound in Phoenix only seems to react to blade speed, not load.
I could be wrong.

Realflight 6 is bang on with physics. Make sure you go to the physics tab, and turn it to "realistic."
I fly mostly the Rave ENV, and Gaui X5 in realflight. I own an ENV, and two friends of mine own x5's. They are spot on. I can spend 10-15 minutes on the sim flying the Rave and then go straight to my real one, and not skip a beat.
Phoenix is ... ok... but it has real inertia problems. The models don't seem to weigh anything.
RF doesn't have this problem.
