Default HPO5S and others

Wanted to talk about the HPO5S and other motors for the Genius CP.
at the present I have a CO5 with a WK 7amp ESC.
Does anyone know if the HPO5S will be compatable with the WK 7amp ESC

I don't know your ESC (using BLHeli flashed Oversky 10A), but I have tried both motors, C05M and HP05S. HP05S is of course way more powerful, resulting in less flight time. But - even more important to me - on HP05S the noise level is lower and the sound much more convenient.

Buddy sorry it took so long to reply but the HP05S sounds like the next option for my G.
Noise level is cool too!
thanks for the reply this help me to make up my mind on the HP05S as my next motor.
Where's the best place to get the HP05S?

BTW how does one flash an esc?

Here's a great alternative to the HP05s is the Extreme Spin 15,500 Kv it's being used in the MCPx and Nano

USA Vendors for the Oversky HP05s

There are still some things that crossed my mind I wanted to add here. One of them was the Spin motor as well. I don't know the 15500kv, but at the moment I have the 16300kv version of Xtreme Spin mounted on my Genius. The most powerful motor I tested so far - to be honest even too much power! The result is of course a very short flight time and really hot batteries after flight. But a lot of fun with that overpowered hornet!
I think the HP05S ist a reasonable compromise between power and weight increase. If you decide for HP05S, pay attention to the kv-version. It's available in 12500kv and 14000kv - I got the wrong one...
By the way you probabaly should think about upgrading your tail as well. With any of the mentioned motors my stock tail blew out. For more torque you need more power to counteract. The alternatives I have are: Walkera BL-Kit tail-motor on my Genius CP, 7mm brushed tail on Mini CP (HP03S 16600kv main motor), Oversky HP02T tail motor on Super CP (HP05S 12500kv main motor).

Hope that helps.
Have fun!

On the Genius I use Oversky 10A as main ESC and the ESC for the tail is a DP-3A. All Walkera-Style plugs are removed and replaced by either soldering directly or 0.8mm gold-connectors (for battery). That's my favourite setup.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but has anyone gone tried the HP05 with the Wow Hobbies ESC?

I have the C05 / Wow plug & play setup, and I feel it's still underpowered (especially next to my MCPX with the HP05).
But otherwise I like the Genius's flying style better.

Thanks.
