Unhappy Stripping main gear constantly

With a brand new main gear installed...i bring the blades up to speed and then shut everything down. Upon inspection the gear has started to strip at the TOP of the gear in small notches, and the whole gear is stripped within minutes. I have adjusted the motor/pinion position to attempt to have proper mesh (and it appeared so). I have ordered a new pinion and main gear from Eflite. Should that do it? Thanks in advance!

Please refer the pictures of the issue.

1--Relatively undamaged teeth (In a pattern around the gear)
2--The top half is worn more than the bottom

Your pinion is all nicked up. That is causing the problem on the main gear. However, what caused the nicks on the pinion?

Wow, that motor pinion is really hacked up. Is that an Align pinion? It doesn't look like it is the right pitch to mate up with the main gear either.

I purchased the heli used, so i assume that pinion has had its share of run time.

Although it is less critical than on 400+ size heli's, getting the mesh right between your new pinion and the main gear makes the heli run smoothly and quieter. You want barely perceptible play between the gears on the high spots, typically between the gear spokes.
