Default MIP and handle

I am not in the wrong forum I just want to get a focused answered from people who concentrate on the best.
To me MIP drivers are the best period. But I hate their handles being too small for smaller size. I was thinking of getting tips only and using an other handle but what ?

Wera handles I have not seen and if they are good which one?

I use MIP's as much as possible but, I have had-to resort back-to a 90 degree allen-wrench (high-quality) in-order to get the proper-amount of torque on a specific bolt or screw (Main-shaft collar (L6003D) / Main-drive / Head-assembly and a few-others (on the TDR)).

A small T-type handle would've been nice for these applications (imo).

I have to raise my hand on this one. I spend a lot of time and money on finding the perfect handle over the years and came across the Wera 816 RA last year. Since then I have been spreading the word!!! Awesome combo with the MIP bits.

You can now get them from Amazon!!! http://www.amazon.com/Wera-Kraftform...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

Thanks a lot just the precise concise answer I was looking for.

That looks interesting and I will definitely have-to try one-of those at some point.

Any problems getting the tip-holder or the reverse-ratcheting-section in-and-out-of tight places (?)
I'm thinking that the MIP tips are fairly short in length (?)

The MIP bits are longer than any of my other bits. Beside the excellent ground tip, they have an extra long shank on them... probably three time longer than any other hex bits I have seen.

As for tight spots, I have another brand of bits (I think they were the old OFNA brand) that I use the small Wera handle with (non-ratcheting)....

I inventoried the RC tools in my arsenal just in case you were looking for an excuse to buy a bunch of tools that you might need

Mark, you have some SERIOUS explaining to do! I want to know how you got into my house, took all of those pictures and got out without being caught!!! Seriously though, over half of the products I have ready to list are EXACTLY the same.

Okay, some of these are repeats of Mark's and all are taken with the iPhone this morning before coffee, so...

Wera Handles, MIP bits:

Ratcheting Handle- http://www.amazon.com/Wera-Kraftform...words=WERA+816
Small non-ratcheting Handle- http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003GDIT1K/ref=biss_dp_t_asn
MIP Bits- (only found them on eBay. I have dealt with this seller before for all of my MIP bits and they have good prices and really fast shipping) http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIP-9009S-Th...item53f9c232a4

The last photos shows you the difference between the length and shank of the MIP bit on the right, versus a standard good quality bit on the left.

I am breaking this into separate posts so it doesn't get too long on a single entry.

Workmat. Just like Mark said, it is awesome. I am biased though since I did the design of it for Ralph at FBL Rotors. http://www.fblrotors.com/FBLROTORS-H...ION_p_578.html

I am going to skip over many of the things that Mark mentioned, unless I think it is worth a double take. Those items that I recommend, but not going to duplicate here are:

Ball Link Sizer (not sure if this is needed for the TDR, but good to have for everything else)
Reamers
Picks
Press, Puller, Pipe Cutter
Crimping Set, Heat Gun, Soldering Station- this is my favorite one- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXWHW2&P=7

Great you guys you have been great.
I already had the FBL mat from a previous post I saw of mkovalkson. Thanks for that. Besides the one ton press, I am pretty much set. Must look at that it had eluded me till now

RyanW thanks for the wera advices, my order is complete. Looking forward to enjoying my MIP even more.

And thanks for staying away from the "yes good but this is cheaper"

Man... where were we? TOOLS!!!

Not shown, but used quite a bit- Tamiya Side Cutter for plastic- http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/tools...e-cutter-74045

Definitely not in the 'must have' category, but I have them around.

Tamiya Hammer and Non-marring pliers-

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHAU1&P=7
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHNZ1&P=7

GOOD Ball Link Pliers. For 'normal' size control balls it doesn't get better than the JR green handle version! http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/T...JRP960242.html

Hemostats- just have a lot of different varieties of shapes and sizes. You use these for everything!

Smooth Shock Shaft Pliers- Good for holding control rods while installing the ball link ends. They seem to have quite a variety now- http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...iers&search=Go

Parallel Jaw Pliers. These will be my next purchase, both metal jaw and non-marring

Never enough. Nothing more satisfying then that new tool that makes that job a fraction of a second faster and easier.

Two more posts to wrap this up!

Tea thingy. I have no idea, I just took it from my wife. I put hardware in it, shoot it with some of my gun cleaner and it gets the oil and residue off.

I am going to skip the other common things you have and highlight a few more of my favorites:

Integy Vice/Part Holder. I LOVE this thing. I take it to all of the fun fly events. It has a built in mini-vice, light magnetic floor in the triangle shape to hold screws when you are working at the field and it has holes to hold bullet connectors for soldering. Best thing? It is a little bigger than a deck of cards! http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p...7#.UjCUNsash8E

Other trays. I use the small one with a micro brush and piece of clear plastic to apply my Loctite. I put the Loctite on the block and use the micro brush to apply to the threads. Particular- yes, but it is nice and clean! http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p...7#.UjCT2cash8E

LAST ONE... I promise... until I think of something else

Grippy- the one I made about twelve years ago and the one that Bobby produces.

Cell checker- same one Mark mentioned. It works and works well. I have had two of the heatshrink covered versions give me significant errors, so I switched to this one- http://www.experiencerc.com/store/ac...og-p-8844.html

Mystery Tool- I need to get this one quoted for production. It is to remove bearings from metal blade grips. Like the spindle holding tool, I didn't invent this, but have refined it and unlike waiting for someone to produce it (Grippy), I will probably actually make this available myself.

Other random shots that basically say (I have a set for the house, a set at the office, one in the box for the field and the "neighbor drawer" when someone asks you to borrow a tool)
