Got mine the other day. Nice clean lines, fits well. Had to move my Ikon to the lower position inside the frame. Seems like the hollow boom makes it sound a little louder.

The sound is most likely the "Goblin effect"

The tail sound is amplified through the boom which is shaped and acts like a megaphone or vuvuzela. Goblins have a unique sound due to this.

So with this kit you have to remove the two tail support rods right? Any ill effects on the tail with this?
