Southern Rotary Classic 2012, Sept. 21-23, Pittsburg, TX
Hey Guys
Here is the date for this year's 2012 SRC, September 21,22 and 23rd. For now we planned to have it in the same place as the last two years. We will have the same great line up of contest and games that we always have and I am working on a list of top pilots to come as usual. So expect another great event again this year, many more details to come. Already got some top pilots expecting to attend this year and contacting more all the time. We will be preregistering people again this year, more information coming soon. Last edited by TheBum; 02-14-2012 at 04:31 PM.. Reason: Expanded thread title to include dates and location |

I may have to limit my participation to Saturday and part of Sunday this year due to my plans of attending the HeliFreak Fun Fly in California a couple of weeks later.

I think it will still be at Broach Park in Pittsburg, Texas. Terry (loveraptors) will have to confirm.

As always guys we going to have a great event and we have been working quietly to get another group of great pilots and prizes for our event again this year. So sign in on the Whose coming list ( or be the first to start one) and keep an eye out for updated information including hotel and motel arraignments. If you are new to the hobby or you don't know where the event is or just want information about it, keep checking these pages or PM me on this site or RR and I will fill you in on the location and some of the great things that has been happening with the event over the years. thanks, Terry |

updates
Ok, I want to keep our helifreak guys updated, we are 3 and half months away from the event. Please keep on preregistering.
I plan to have a drawing for a nice prize (not sure what it will be but expect something nice) to give away to one person that pre registers, also the pre register people will get more opportunities for the pilot giveways. We are thinking of moving out pilot give way to the lunch time hour during the time of our heli demos and give one Grand prize away that evening. Some people are not able to stay for the night flying so we will "might move the pilot giveways earlier in the day and yes we are planning to both fly under the lights and do some traditional night flying as well this year. You do not have to be present to win our Grand Prize Raffle item, since you will be donating to get a raffle ticket for it, but you will have to be present to win the pilot give aways right after lunch. Things are coming together behind the scenes so keep signing in and pre registering. More later, Terry |

suggestions
Maybe I should not ask this question but I am going to ask anyway.
Anyone got a suggestion for a nice "600 size helicopter" that can be given away for a Grand prize. I know there are some nice 700 prize helicopters but you are talking a lot of money for one of those. I would love to get one of our sponsors to come through with a good deal for one and I will look into it, but we normally get a 600 size and it still makes for something nice. Terry |

I guess no one on helifreak has any idea as to what we they would like to have as a possible main prize for the event, still would like to hear some suggestions.
The event is now within in 100 days so please keep signing up guys. |

It's not a 600, but a Gaui X5 would be a pretty sweet prize methinks.

How about a Goblin 630?
Different class, but how about one of the DJI quad or hex copters? If I wasn't saving up for a Blade 130X and a 700 sized heli, I'd consider getting one. They're excellent for aerial photography/videography.
