Default Play in Blade Grips

Is any play allowable in the grips at all? In relationship with the feathering shaft. Mine move up and down slightly. Probably about 1/4"-3/8" travel at blade end tips up and down. Sign of dampers worn? Bearings, etc..?

1/4"-3/8" travel - Is not normal and I would not fly like that.
Why
Worn Dampners - could be, but that seems to be way to much play for a dampner problem in my opinion
Worn Bearings - I don't think that would cause in and out play along the feathring shaft - check them out.

Wrong feathering shaft
A feathering shaft way of spec length wise
Screws in feathering shaft have come loose
missing shims / washers / thrust bearing components

Thanks jypt,
I was thinking too that it's not quite what you want to see. This thing couldn't fly any better though. Flies rocksolid and like it's on rails.

Also, there is movement in the feathering shaft when I try to teeter totter the whole grip assembly, but I think this might be normal due to the head containing the nylon sleeve that holds the feathering shaft.
Does the nylon sleeve inside of the head allow the feathering shaft to move up and down lately? Or should this be a tight enough fit where no movement is allowed?
I don't know if you can replace just the nylon insert inside of the aluminum head or not. I don't remember ever seeing that part by itself on the replacement parts list. Might have to purchase the whole head assembly.
Thoughts??

Rebuilding the head. Found the nylon sleeve worn down thin inside the head block.

Big difference here. Noticed the play in it for a while. Still flew great.

It's great that you noticed it, many people probably would not have.

And better yet it's good you are taking care of it.

Anxious to check the blade tracking and get it in the air again to see if any difference.
