Boom Tilted Up
So my boom kept coming loose from the main frame with almost every crash... I took the plunge and put a bit of CA on the boom, then jammed it into the frame. The CA quickly dried and now my boom is solidly affixed to the main frame!
When I went to plug the battery in, I noticed that the boom looked like it was tilted up... I can't straighten it as the glue has now cured. It looks to be about 3 or 4 degrees bent upward. I annotated the photo below with a thin black line to show the tilt. Any ideas how this will effect flight and stability... if at all? I guess what I am asking is, how would flight performance be effected if the tail rotor was in the same plane as the blades? |

Steve,
Do you want the long version? lol. It won't affect much untill you do a quick turn or fast piros. When you do the centrifical force will want to push the tail boom and motor back to level which will of course be making the head tilt back. Yep, that's the short version... Rob.

I once lost the correct screw for the tail boom mount, tried to screw in a slightly bigger screw and snapped the bit of frame that the screw goes into, so while waiting on a new frame I just glued the boom on and it sat at am angle like yours, seemed to fly ok though
