Trex 450L Dominator 6s right rudder issue
I have an issue when applying right rudder to my 450L Dominator 6s. She hovers beautifully and yaws left no problems at all. When I apply right rudder it will initially resist and kick back, I can get it to yaw right but I have to apply a fair bit of stick and I get a bit of tail wag in the process. This is my first bird in about 20 years so I am a relative newbie. Any tips on the setup of my Gpro, there are a lot of parameters to adjust and I'm not sure where to start.
Cheers SLL. |

Often it comes down to the mechanical setup. Double check that everything moves freely and that the servo arm is vertical when servo is centred and that the tail mechanism is also centred at mid stick. Check also that the tail slider has full and equal travel in both directions.

Yup, what he said. Sounds alot like you have some binding going on in that direction. The slider needs to be VERY smooth through the entire duration of its travel. So smooth that if you took off the push rod and turned the heli on its side w the slider at the tail hub, it should fall by itself or w a slight nudge it should fall to the gear box. Thats atleast how I do mine.

I second the binding make sure it has no binding. Check all the tail rotor screws and make sure they are not to tight.
I was going flying this moring so I decited to tighten my tail rotor screws must of tighten some to tight. When I got to the field I had a wag it was windy so I delt with it first flight which is I hovering my first battery. Than for some reason I checked the tail took the servo ball link off and it felt tight so lossened a few screws and walla it was back to normal and tail locked back in. The binding was making the gyro hunt which made it wag. So many little things that can done to make them fly better. |

Thanks for the replies guys.
I have sorted the issue now, it was mechanical, well sort of, there was no binding anywhere. I flicked over to rate mode and I had a fair bit of left yaw at centre stick. I adjusted my tail linkage and fine tuned the centre trim on the Gpro at the field with my iPhone and bluetooth adaptor to get the tail to hold steady and now it is running silky smooth in both directions when back in HH mode.
