Heli-Headspeed - tachometer for Android and Java-enabled phones
Hi,
I have written a tachometer software that measures the head speed of RC-helis for Android and Java-enabled phones. Similar to the nice HeliTach app for the iphone. There is also a PC based version that now also supports Nitro-helis. The version for JavaME phones is free and available from here, as well as a version that runs on a standard PC (Windows, Mac, Linux): http://digitizeit.de/heli/ There is also an Android version (paid app) that is available from the Android market as Heli-Headspeed: http://www.androidpit.de/en/android/...Heli-Headspeed The algorithm is the same in both apps. I think it works pretty well with electric RC-helis. I am new to this forum since I am normally posting in German forums. However I though that probably a couple of people here might be interested in it too. I could also fairly easily port the JavaME version to a Blackberry, but I have no friends with a Blackberry, they are not so common in Germany. If somebody would be willing to test a Blackberry version, tell me. Cheers, Ingo Last edited by pozo; 04-25-2010 at 05:56 PM.. |

I know the version on the net does not work with Blackberry, it's not even worth trying.
Maybe I will add a nitro mode later, the same way it is done in the iphone app. Should be simple. |

I have made an experimental Blackberry version and I am looking for someone to try it.
Maybe it works, maybe not, I tested it only on a simulator. I can work, if your device fullfills all of the following conditions: - your OS is version 4.5 or later - you are NOT on a CDMA network - your device is NOT a touch screen device If you want to try it, here is the link: http://digitizeit.de/heli/tmp/HeliTachBB.cod The GUI still needs some adjustment, the Measure command is at position 5 in the menu and in the moment only visible if you scroll down. This is a version to be used with the trackball, it will probably not work well if you use the touchscreen. The first thing to check is if recording works in general. Please check if you get an error if you let it measure for say 1 minute or so. If recording works, you could check if you get correct RPM values with a real heli. Please send feedback as PM. |

Hi Pozo,
I scanned the QR Code on that page but Market can't find your app. Did you restrict it to certain countries? I'm using a Nexus One on T-Mobile in the US. Thanks, Daniel |

No, I did not restrict it and it should also be available for phones with any screen size. Did you try a plain search for the name?

The QR code can't find heli-headspeed for my HTC Desire. I can't find heli-headspeed by searching the market either. I'm running Android 2.1

Can you see other paid apps? It's strange, other people can see the application.

@dswitkin, trident3: I have changed something in the Android market settings, I think you should see it now. Tell me if that's not the case.
