Cool! I linked to your video through Finless' reply so hadn't seen your location. I immediately recognized the terrain and thought "That must be right near WSMR!" Sure enough, the shot of the club sign at the end confirmed it. I spent quite a bit of time with some projects out at HELSTF some years back.

Default Trex 600 on 10s Z50a motor

Here is a video I shot this pass Sunday (1-21-07) at the local AMA field here (Markham Park). The pilot who flew my heli is Elvis Leslie. He flys for Carbon Extreme. I had to edit out the end due to my camera work (its only a couple more seconds).

Here is my setup:

Trex 600 with custom heli 2mm carbon frame
Zpower Z50a-800 motor with 14T pinion
CC 85HV running GOV mode 2100rpm
FP EVO 10s (2x5s) 3700mah packs
Futaba 611 gyro
Hitec 6975 servos for cyclic
600mm Vblades and 95mm vblades for tail
Align torque tube

There are 2 versions of the video one in High Def and one in lower res.

This one is in HD (1280x720) and its 86mb.
http://www.rchelivideo.com/trex_600_...HD_1-21-07.wmv

This one is in lower res (640x480) and its 25mb.

Enjoy, Thanks.

Hey guys,

I took a new video yesterday and put together another quick on-board movie.

There are some new maneuvers I've been working on, so let me know what you think

Wow, really nice compliment, thanks Bob.

In case anyone is interested I took a couple quick shots of the camera setup. You'll crack up at how cheap and simple it is. I was amazed at the video quality from such an inexpensive (~$120) point and shoot digital camera . It takes 640x480 video at 30FPS, about 15 minutes worth on a 1GB card.

The mount is just half of the plastic box my metal grips came in, cut open on one edge so I can hit the camera shutter button. I mounted the box to the frame with 3M "dual-lock" velcro, then used regular velcro to hold in the camera, and finally added the outer battery strap for good measure. Seems to hold on there for dear life, and is quickly attachable/removable.

Thanks again for the nice feedback,

-Fog

Beautiful!! In answer to your question at the end, "I thoroughly enjoyed the ride!!"

Now a technical question: Was your one-way was stuck on your auto at the end? It sure seems like I could still hear the motor cogging as the rotor slowed down on the ground. I've been worried about practicing autos lately because of sticky one-way problems.
