Thanks Amp. It's the Helimax ESC rid of the heatshrink.

I'm soldering the HP05S motor now and trying it tonight, I'm curious how well it performs with the heavy night blades

Default TA 915 lethal power brushless outrunner

Monster mCP X here. This motor is amazing, I think there is nothing more powerful at 1S.

Motor has wide bell, I had to modify the RKH frame to make it fit inside.

The main shaft is shortened, the head is 4 mm lower

Pushrods in the lower servo holes

9T pinion, XP-12A esc, TheSteve to the back side tiny resistor

Ready to fly

Hi liftbag

Just had a couple of flight with the shorter shaft, this really dose make the thing come alive , rolls and flips easier
One thing you should try is to get your speed controller up higher it really rolls then :-)

Paolo! You've got some nice birds there.

Jens, nice skills on the frame mod...I'm liking the TDR skids. I was just going to half arse it and put holographic stickers on the bottom skid part of the CF RKH TDR, but there's nothing that comes close to those little tubes you're using.

Inverse, I remember we did a mini breakdown on expenditure a while back, I don't want wanna go there.

Anyway, after getting annoyed with vibrations without full throttle resolution, I ended up soldering to the hotspot and man, she rocks! Direct soldered tail and power to ESC via main board. Gave my first original KBDD's another shot that I had tracking issues with which made them perform better.

But the BL conversion didn't come without it's frustrations. Note to self: Buy smaller solder iron tips. My solder sucker's useless with parts that small, I had to use the iron to remove any excess many a times...I'm surprised I didn't fry anything! lol! Far from tidy but the yellow wire's secure and fully functional.

Last thing to complete it is a decent canopy so I can't wait 'til my TDR comes in. Thanks Jens!

Hi,

I have a little bit additional weight with my TDR canopy and the TDR landing skid, but a brushless setup makes things like that possible.
My TDR like skid is very flexible, various lipo formats/sizes fits perfectly.
Thats a bonus.

Jens

w00t! I get to join the brushless club!

My photos aren't as custom as the one's I've seen here, other than the incredible performance you can't tell mine from stock. The hardest part was looking for the motor mount screws that fell on the floor

I got the WoW hobbies kit in the mail today at 2:30 and I was flying it by 5:00! I would have been finished an hour sooner, because that's how long it took me to find the motor mount screws. I dropped one on the floor and couldn't find it. Then in my infinite wisdom, I dropped the other one on the floor from the same height to see where it would go and as soon as it hit the floor it disappeared!

I eventually found them both and finished everything up. The only modification I made from the Wow kit was to solder the motor wires directly to the esc, it wasn't too difficult.

Sorry, but I LOL'd at that Sorry to hear about the difficulty, but it came out nicely!

FWIW, the stock motor mount screws appeared to work with my HP05S. Not sure if your motor is different that way. But if one of them disappeared again, it's worth trying the stock screws.

You guys have made yours look great! And I'm not even just talking about custom canopies, etc. Nice, clean, tidy, BL installations. Mine looks awful by comparison Maybe at some point I'll take it apart and shorten the wires, make it look cleaner, etc.

Can you tell me where you got the 1.6mm hollow square tail boom from?

My BL, with "wrong" motor:

RKH frame, double coreless tail (Astroid Designs mounts) with Bravo SX motors, TurboAce 91416 IR, 8t pinion, TheSteves "old", XP-7A.
The main motor will be exchanged against a CO5M with 1 mm shaft (already here); broke the board in my second BL with mCP x frame, where the TurboAce 91416 is planned to work. Till I'll have repaired the board and will be able to setup the second BL mCP x again, the motor will stay in this heli.

Works great!
