Wasp 360? Where'd you get that?
It's "Warp 360".

I don't think it has been introduced in themain forum, but I being a rep, will not do it. It has to come from a passerby, otherwse, it will look like we (support community) tryingto sell it.

fwiw...

It is possible to do rolling/flipping autos with a 450, as well as 180 degree FAI style approaches, and 180 on landing to a nose down touch down...Conditions (wind) have to be right, and I don't always make 'em pretty, but I'd miss not being able to do them..Especially as the larger disk make these easier, if my limited experience with the G5 is an indicator...If the main gear is designed like the raptor, it may be reasonably easy to mod the gear...All that said, I'll still get in line for one, but I'm hearing Maxwell Smart over my shoulder....."Missed it by THIS much"...

I like to do aerobatic autos on the 6hv and have done them on 500 (425mm) size helis as well. I've never flown a 450 but my educated guess to your question is, No.

You know... I'll probably be willing to try flip-out autos at the very end of the descent... if it ends up over 50g lighter than a 450pro, and not having to drive the tail, the larger disk should allow it if done right. Of course I'll build up to it, many normal autos, then roll outs...

RE: the emergency bailouts..... I think of the many times I've heard advise from the pros about learning every orientation very well upright, then inverted, before you try advanced 3D. If you ever have power failure and the machine is auto capable after, you should be able to fly it down from any orientation, even without tail control. Of course every situation is different, and so is every failure. I'd guess your outcome would be about the same as it would with driven tail.

Some failures also involve the tail. Think, TS goes out, heli pirouettes, you hit TH, you auto down safely, not a whole lot different.

Sebastian can you send me a side view of the canopy? I would like to design a paint scheme for it. Here is some of my work below.

I'm not on the prototype testing team, but I can give you the exact answer...
"When it is ready"

That's what you'll hear from just about any heli manufacturer working on a prototype. ;-)

My educated guess (when looking at the production process of the 7HV and certain deadlines), I would guess they'll be available by IRCHA 2012, if not a bit sooner. I would think there might be a working prototype in time for Nuremberg Toy Fair in February, then March-June for testing/revisions. So, I'd put money on June-August 2012, unless something really holds Compass up. There are a number of new roads here for Compass, they likely will need to create a new 6s motor, and testing could take a while. I'd like to see something in the 1KW range, to put all other 350 size 6s motors to shame. There's some other new design endeavors here that might take a bit of tweaking, like a rigid head. These new dimensions to the project could take a little while...

Definitely liking the design a lot.... really nice, but I also gotta agree about the driven tail requests... ya, you can auto just fine without tail control, but I honestly don’t see the need to delete this from a design to save energy when we’re talking 350+ blades.

I learned to auto on my 450 pro, with 17g FG blades that suck for autos and notchy bearings all around... and I did just fine... had the blades been 20-40mm longer, and 10-15g heavier AND had good bearing... well, it would have been much easier. So IMO, the efficiency savings here sort of outweigh the benefits of a driven tail.

Bank and yank during an auto doesn’t work.... that's asking for a lawn dart... you lose more energy that way then you would giving a little rudder. You gotta be smooth with everything, so really doing controlled turns is much more difficult with no tail, possible, but the margin for error is small. I'm fairly new to autos, but that's an observation I made in my learning process.

Sweet design though, def going on my list.
