Default No tail hold in Rate Mode

I normally fly in HH mode with my 450 and the tail is rock solid with my gyro gain set at 61 in my dx6i.
I wanted to try some Rate Mode sport flying, but I could not get my tail to hold at any setting. The Dx6i setting are 0-50 for Rate and 50-100 HH.

No where between 0 -50 could I get the tail to hold at all.

I fly with the gyro set to the pre-programmed flight mode of expert - maybe that is it?

Any ideas?

sounds like your tail is not set up in rate mode. im assuming its rotation is CCW?

you will need to play with this a little while one day, making adjustments to your tail rod length and even placement of servo on the boom to offset this.

Default No tail hold in Rate Mode

Always set up a tail to stay fairly straight in rate mode, it will only allow the HH mode to work better as the throws will be proportional to what the heli needs each side of center. What if your gyro wigs out and loses HH function. If tail was setup properly in rate mode before ever going into HH mode, copter would weathervane and as long as you were easy as silk on the collective and kept some FAS you could land safely with a skidding auto or the likes.
